ABC: 16 Cat 2/ BOC 21.75 (18.5 S, 3.25 B)- This 17.5-hour course consists of a 15.5-hour self-paced online component that is comprised of narrated PowerPoint lectures, videos, and comprehensive lab assignments followed by a 2-hour live Zoom class covering the hands-on and lab components. It is ideal for the busy professional that does not wish to travel.

How it works:

The self-paced portion of the course consists of several YouTube type video lectures, with printable lecture notes, lab assignments, and quizzes. You may start, stop, and replay these video lectures as many times as you need. They can be viewed anytime.

The lab assignments and quizzes are completed online. A typical lab assignment may consist of a short list of terms that you will need to define.

The live portion of the class is conducted via a webcam and Zoom.  The live webcam portion of class typically takes 2 hours to complete.. There is a limit of 2 students per session. Scheduled sessions are available during business hours.  When you schedule your Skills Check-off, be sure that you and your mock patient will be available the entire time without interruption.

As of January 1, 2026, we will no longer be offering loaner kits.  The student will be responsible for obtaining the basic tools used in the field of fitting diabetic shoes.

The tools needed for the skills check off include the following:

Men's / Women's or Unisex Brannock Device, Monofilament (5.07/10 gm), Tuning Fork (128 CPS), Non-contact Thermometer, Heat Gun, heat moldable prefabricated orthotics to fit your mock patient, shoe horn, some sort of heat barrier to protect the floor (cardboard), and gloves. There are many vendors that offer these items.  All of these things are available on Amazon.

Additionally, the student should bring or wear socks and bring 3 pairs of closed-toed, closed-heeled, low-heeled shoes that fit them well (the more worn, the better).

You will be issued your certificate upon successful completion of the course.

The Timed Final Exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions.
